Time Out 02/08, " Such a pity this place still remains so far under the radar. The German fare is comfortably homey, traditional und "sehr gut"."

HungryGoWhere.com:
"There are many regulars like me who greatly enjoy their menu and authentic food, and a huge winelist alike, the cosy no nonsense ambiance with open kitchen that produces the most awesome mouthwatering aromas and a type of hospitality that makes you feel more a guest than a client. The food is authentic and good as it should be." (PJ Oilbucher, 6th December 2007)
"I shall return to magma, not only for the rare German Beer, but also for the Food, which is prepared in the open Kitchen by some Deutsche Kuechenbullen ... and yes I will not have a canned beer in the Hotel near by." (Antono Ego, 29th November 2007)
"First time at magma, and i'm sure i'll be back for more! loved the chicken and vanilla cherry cream, and the bratwurst is love as well. And yes, finally a place with some decent bread. Most imptly, the wines and beers are steal! All the fruit wines and brandies are very good and at very reasonable prices." (Alyssa Takagi, 14th October 2007)
"We thought that red wine would be good to have with the pork + boar and asked for a recommendation. The Pinot Noir that was suggested was perfect. Looks like some German reds are comparable with their French counterparts.(W Ng, 14th July 2007)

Sunny Thots, 21st February 2007: "The german pork knuckle was great! Pizza is also very unqiue, instead of cheese, it was sour cream. yummy!!:) ... Had fruit wine that nite, it was so sweet and nice!"

Timeless Facade, 28th January 2007: "Words escape me when I try to describe the platter that was set before us. Humongous would probably come close. Just staring at the all pork dish sent shivers down my spine. I really couldn't imagine eating that. Well, we did anyway."

Small potatoes ..., 27th January 2007: "My initial skepticisms of this place is totally dispelled from this dinner ... What I like about the german pizzas here is that instead of coming with tomato based sauce like most pizzas, this is topped with cream cheese instead (woohoo!)."

Michelle Matylda, 14th January 2007: "Makan Sehr Gut! (very good) ... Makan recommendation? Grilled Pork Knuckle (die die must try). For beverage Hot Chocolate with honey or just simply the German Wine and Beer ... Just go and try it yourself! "

wannalearn2bake, 4th November 2006: "the pork knuckle was delicious! tender meat, juicy fatty skin....i don't usually eat skins, but that was just FANTASTIC...so sinful...."

Pleasant Interlude, 22nd October 2006: "great food, good service."

The annotated budak, 21st October 2006: "Anti-Aging Beer ... is made from powdered chitin, SK-II and Oil of Olay malt and thermal brine water from the health resort of Bad Saarow, as well as spirulina and plant flavonoids. It's not as bad as it sounds, and actually tastes pretty decent (like liquid Marmite, says the LonelyHam) ... On the whole I'd say the food is pretty ok. Not top notch nor basement barrel but rather above expectations for the price."

Halfway ..., 21st October 2006: "I'm not familiar with hearty German food, but MrB is, and according to him, the food dished out by the Chef (who incidentally bears an uncanny semblence to Rene from 'Allo 'Allo) was pretty good."

Lost Vagabond, 12th October 2006: "One of the best pork knuckles in Singapore! Cooked in a pizza oven, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside."

Yebber, "The food is of above average quality and service is great and the waiters actually know what they are talking about with regard to the food", feizhu, 31st October 2007

streetdirectory.com, "With regards to the famous sausages we have heard so much about, Magma's Currywurst sausage certainly lives up to expectations.", Viviane Then

88DB Singapore, "The menu carries a wide range of authentic German food including their famous flammkuchen, sauerkraut, German sausages, roasted meats and wines directly imported from Germany. Watch your food freshly prepared by head chef Robert Leistner in Magma's open-kitchen concept and inhale the first whiff of roasted delicacies over the counter.", rizki, 31st August 2007

yum, " Robert is certainly one of the most traveled chefs around, having spent some time working in the Philippines, Germany, the Canary Islands, Hong Kong and Austria. Being in the kitchen since the age of 5, he is no stranger to cooking for both small and large groups and even worked in a hotel restaurant that serves up to 600 people a day. ",

" Eschewing traditional kitsch more associated with the Bavarian Oktoberfest that some authentic eateries might tend to opt for, the main dining area is modern, cosy and sleek, with its decor snazzed up with jazzy reds and whites and boasting an open-concept kitchen, where you can bear witness to Chef Robert Leistner's preparations for the evening.", kelvin_ckh

"The menu boasts all the authentic German cuisind ... with unpronouncable names ... good thing they have evereything explained."e;, FireIce 30th July 2007

can.com.sg, " The dimly lit place provides the unique experience reminiscent of having a meal at a friend's home, putting us totally at ease. The wine selection is excellent here, especially with the German Riesling offering great value. The diverse other wines, such as the cherry wine, strawberry wine and honey wine only serves to increase my fondness for this bistro. Magma's first-rate cuisine, fair pricing and excellent selection of wines has worked so far and you know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.", Leslie Lin, 18th January 2007
